Senior Cloud Security Engineer - K8s

Role Overview

As a Cloud Security Engineer at Datadog, you'll partner with stakeholders across the organization to secure cloud infrastructure. You'll be part of the Platform Security team — building solutions to solve systemic risks, enabling safe usage of AI, and making the secure path the easiest path for engineers. This role is focused on Service Mesh and Kubernetes security within a large-scale, multi-cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Solve challenging cloud infrastructure security problems starting with core building blocks and golden paths
• Enable engineers to build and ship secure solutions quickly
• Build and extend Datadog's Platform Security solutions
• Leverage and influence Datadog's internal products to secure infrastructure and provide product feedback

Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• Prior experience in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, or Cloud Security
• Hands-on experience developing, deploying, and extending service mesh systems in production Kubernetes environments
• Software engineering background with code review experience in Go, Python, or Rust
• Experience with Kubernetes PKI and network technologies — Consul, Envoy, Cilium, Vault, or Istio
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and Kubernetes
• Up to date with modern security best practices and emerging threats
