Technical Services Engineer, Infrastructure

Role Overview

As a Technical Services Engineer at MongoDB, you'll work with the largest and most demanding customers to drive successful implementations of MongoDB Server, MongoDB Search, and managed backups on Kubernetes platforms. You'll troubleshoot complex production issues, design backup strategies for petabyte-scale environments, and provide product feedback that shapes the MongoDB roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Work with enterprise customers to troubleshoot and resolve complex MongoDB issues end-to-end
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot backup strategies for massive production environments at petabyte scale
• Evaluate customer application architectures, cloud infrastructure configurations, and business pain points
• Provide product feedback to influence the MongoDB roadmap and tooling
• Handle technical escalations independently as you grow into the role

Requirements

• 1+ years in a customer-facing support role
• 2+ years administering RDBMSs such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL (MongoDB experience preferred)
• 3+ years across — Kubernetes cluster management, DevOps/IaC practices, and disaster recovery operations
• 5+ years of cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on-prem infrastructure administration in production environments
• Strong Linux systems knowledge — firewalls, load balancers, performance tuning, storage management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills under pressure

Good to Have

• Experience with MongoDB Atlas, Ops Manager, Cloud Manager, or Kubernetes Operator
• Experience with AI topics and Vector Search
• Database monitoring via Prometheus or Grafana
• Coding experience in Python, Java, Go, Ruby, C, or C++
